Who & What is Behind CJD?

CJD, or Community Joined-Up Development, is the consulting expertise of Award-Winning Community Business Consultant Carole Donnelly and a partnership with Donna Preece-Jones of The DPA, creative thinking and insight facilitation.

Carole set up CJD in 2020 in response to the complex systems and a lack of joined-up pragmatic solutions for community organisations. Now offering additional Health & Wellbeing coaching, enabling you to maintain your health and continue supporting the local community.

CJD has led many research programmes, including working with the School for Social Entrepreneurs’ Heritage Programme and West Midlands Combined Authority Social Investment Fund Research.

Who is Carole?

Carole is the lead of CJD and is passionate about supporting individuals and communities in their development and growth.

Carole is…

  • the Public Affairs Advisor for the UK & International Health Coaching Association (UKIHCA) is working with the senior management team to develop key strategies to ensure that health coaching gains national recognition as a supportive way to increase the well-being of citizens.

  • a social entrepreneur and a double fellow of the School for Social Entrepreneurs. She has supported heritage communities and social businesses for more than 30 years.

  • an award-winning social entrepreneur and a former WISE 100 Woman for social enterprise development.

 

Carole has worked with…

  • the National Organisation Power to Change since early 2020. She supported the very successful Powering Up Programme until December 2023.

  • She is the former co-chair of the social economy taskforce for the West Midlands Combined Authority, which is responsible for developing the social economy across the West Midlands. She is keenly interested in opening up regional social investment opportunities.

  • as an Assessor for the Royal Society of Public Health (RSPH) on their Health & Wellbeing Awards.

  • Carole has developed and saved several community assets (buildings) over the last 20+ years, has a background in social housing and established tenant-led organisations.

She has recently developed a new part of her business to offer health and well-being coaching alongside her business coaching. She works with you to develop a healthier lifestyle that then enables you to be the change in the local community. Carole is primarily working with the over-50s to ensure they can lead a healthier, happier, active, and stress-free life well into their retirement, whenever possible!

Carole believes in strength, unity, and a powerful sense of purpose. That's why she collaborates with Donna of the Donna Preece Academy to deliver high-quality creative thinking facilitation that enables you to understand your community's business and market needs. To help them understand their unique situations and to empower them to grow stronger and with greater motivation and vigour.

Donna is a seasoned facilitator who has worked with universities and businesses, supporting over 1,500 individuals. She’s especially adept at bringing people together and providing a safe space for insight to be heard and ideas to flow.
